From a book lover to other book lovers, a single app including all you need to manage your reading life

Project crafted in May 2019, for my personal development.

As a passionate and intense reader, I juggle a lot between my Kindle books, the e-books (and audiobooks) that I borrow from my local library in Germany (it uses an app called Libby, from Overdrive) and my Goodreads profile, where I register the details of my reading life and take peeks on what my friends are reading - it also serves as a way for me to discover new books, as it's happened many times.

I took the liberty of imagining how smoother my reading would be if I could count on a single app to manage and read both my purchased and borrowed books, as well as my reader profile.

The result is the design you see below, created in my free time - cat themed (bringing back the theme of the smart library cat that has permeated my childhood), visually minimalistic (to shift focus to the reading) and born with the intense reader in mind.

A HOME FEED GEARED TOWARDS DISCOVERY

For the intense reader, finding new books to read is no small task. A smart recommender, with relevant picks, is a must.

On the top of the screen, we always have "currently reading", so that the reader doesn't spend a lot of time trying to continue with the current book(s), and "want to read", a special shelf containing our... never-ending list.

Also featured here - curated lists (e.g. NY Times, Bill Gates etc.) and picks from authors and friends you follow.
