Carry your notes with you and never forget anything again
the concept
LESS IS MORE
There's no shortage of note-taking applications currently in the market. Many of them showcase a large amount of features, integrations, types of attachments, possibilities of edition... thus blurring a bit the edge between note-taking and note-booking.
Many of those applications are indeed suitable when larger and more complex pieces of text are being written, but they are too much when people are faced with the necessity of just scribbling a few words to remind themselves of a quick something. And given the amount of parallel tasks and errands that most of us end up running on a daily routine, the necessity to not forget is ubiquitous.
On this note, the desire arose for an application that is simpler, faster and does a quick job in a more visual way than most of its other heavy counterparts.
the theme
WHY AN ELEPHANT
Some of the currently available applications that satisfy the area of a speedier note-taking process, such as Google Keep, do the required job in an efficient way, but lack a bit of personality and customer rapport. The concept of less is more doesn't mean that the application shouldn't be emotionally or visually appealing. Enters the elephant.

The elephant's remarkable recall power, researchers believe, plays a big part of how an elephant survive. They're long-lived animals - they can live up to 50 or 60 years! In those circumstances, if they experience extremes of climate and they can remember where the food is during a year, their survival chances increase.
​
Humans, with the enormous amount of mental multi-threading that became the characteristic of the 2010's, could benefit from an animal companion bearing such a strong trait... And the empathic looks of the elephant chosen for this app can strengthen the bond between customer and product by creating an emotion experience.

The MVP should allow us to deliver the core value of the product as fast as possible to the users in order to get quick feedback from them, learn and iterate.

For this project, the MVP will be an application for iOS which allow customers to write notes down, assign them to categories and add attachments.
1. When I am on the run, I want to scribble down a quick note, so that I can avoid forgetting something important.

the customer journey
ACCESS
An easy login with only social media links allows the application to be simple and avoids the complications of email and password validation, as well as the flows of password recovery. As about 86% of users report being annoyed by creating accounts in websites, social login has the potential to develop a smooth and high conversion transition between the splash screen and the content. Login is required in order for the customer's notes to be recoverable in other devices as well.
HOME, ALL VISUAL
Once logged, the customer reaches the main home view, in which the notes are displayed in a flexible grid, which allow smaller notes to be viewed in full and scale accordingly. At this point, he is free to create new notes or to view existing ones, as well as invoke selections of notes by going to "Notebooks".
NEW NOTE, NO FRILLS
No distractions when creating a new note - the design is sleek and aesthetically simple. Excessive elements and additional features have been shaved out, leaving only what is necessary: adding some text and category.
SMART TAGGING
The smart tagging process used in Elliephant is inspired on the Material Design usage of chips. Once a new tag is created, it's automatically transformed into a Notebook, which collects notes and receives a simple background cover automatically chosen from Unsplash based on the tag.
COLLECTING NOTES
Complete notes can be saved and will be categorised into Notebooks via the attributed tags. Multiple tags can be added and eliminated anytime.
SIMPLE RETRIEVAL
Notebooks are created automatically by attributing tags to notes - they're a simple and visual way to retrieve collections of similarly grouped notes.
